TRAME - A portal for research

Manuscript texts and traditions of the European Middle Ages: a portal for research (TRAME)

TRAME is a research infrastructure project dedicated to the development and interoperability of web-based archives on the manuscript tradition of medieval European texts. The project intends to tackle the problem of dispersion created by the many databases containing information on manuscripts consisting of digital images, codicological descriptions, their textual and philological value, and their culture significance in the European tradition, and aims to respond to the exigencies of an instrument that facilitates access to information.

Thus TRAME is aimed at establishing a network of transversal research across the archives of partner sites, and connecting searches potentially across all the web archives dedicated to medieval texts and manuscripts.

The TRAME portal makes simultaneous research on different databases possible, and offers a protocol for joining, open to institutions and scholars who would like to participate in the network.

TRAME is now also on twitter and facebook:
